Kerry Hilton Speaking on Sunday

Kerry and Annie Hilton, for 17 years, lived in Sonagaci - an area of Kolkata, India, where an estimated 10,000 women are exploited in human trafficking. There, they started Freeset, a business based on their belief that every person should have the freedom to work in a safe environment, get paid fair wages, and have a job that makes them proud.  They strategically placed their facilities in communities in India to help women live a life of freedom.

Come and hear the Hilton family's inspiring story of calling and community transformation. Kerry will be speaking this Sunday, November 11, at both services.

Take the Next Step

Are you a newer guest at ODPC and want to meet others and get plugged into our church family? Come join us at our next Guest Connections Lunch. We want to help you take the next step to find community as you meet other church members, ministry leaders and pastors of our church.

Nov 18 - After Both Services

We invite you to join us for a special time of fellowship as we host our annual Thanksgiving Family Meal, after both services. We hope this opportunity will allow each of us to connect with others, especially with those whom we have not had a chance to meet and get to know.  This is one of many ways we can build stronger communities within the body of Christ.  Please plan to join us!

We still need volunteers to help. If you are able to help, please sign up here!

Membership Class

If you would like to find out more about becoming a member of our church -- what we believe, our structure, our ministries, and how to grow and be more engaged in God's purpose for our church -- please join us for our next membership class on Saturday, 12/15. You can sign-up by emailing Pastor John at john.cha@odpcec.org. Registration deadline is 12/1.

Helping Hungry Kids

Love Herndon's Weekend Pack Ministry provides weekend snack packs to 60 students at Clearview Elementary School every week for the entire school year. These students struggle to get a meal at home so we provide them with 240 healthy, kid-friendly meals each month.

To do so, we need your help! On Sundays, November 11, 18, and 25, we will be collecting food donations. Here is a list of
necessary items to pick up for the drive. You may drop off the food at church in our collection carts under the stairs in the foyer.  If you have questions, please email: loveherndon@gmail.com

Congregational Meeting

Our annual Congregational Meeting, for all ODPC members, will be held on December 9 at 1:00pm, following the second service. We want to thank you, in advance, for marking this date on your calendars and making arrangements to attend. A light lunch will be served to those members who will be present at the meeting.

Some of the topics on the agenda include the introduction and launch to "Gospel Communities Sent in the Everyday", the annual ministry summary of 2018, and a preview of 2019.

We will also be taking a vote on the new elder candidates. With several of our current elders taking a sabbatical this year, we are nominating Sean Park and John Sim to serve as elders for our EC.  As part of our candidacy process, we have already received feedback from their workplaces, homes, and respective leadership and ministry circles here in the church.  Now, we are opening this discernment process to the rest of our congregation. Please approach any of our pastors or elders with feedback regarding our two candidates.

Threshold Feature Article

Story Media Labs aspires to serve as a Business-As-Mission (BAM) by giving Mike and myself a natural bridge to have Gospel-centered, meaningful interaction with our local community members.  As we hear and share stories, the work will help us dig past the exterior layers of local businesses, non-profits, and government, and enable cross-community relationships.

Some of the best pastor candidates have come to our church through word of mouth.  We know many of you had relationships with different pastors and churches through your lifetime.

If you know someone who might be a good candidate with a heart for evangelism, local and global outreach, as well as workplace ministry, please share the full job description, which has been posted to our website.
